Eriko is another gifted photographer (find her on Instagram @eriko.shimamura) I met at the photography event I wrote about in my blog. She kindly offered to take photos of me on the very same day as Mathilde.

What makes her stand out isn’t just her skill, but her personality. Eriko's endlessly smiley, excited, and full of encouragement. That positivity made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera, even though I usually get shy.

It's fascinating is how both she and Mathilde photographed the same subject in the same setting, yet their work feels completely different. Together, their perspectives show how photography is as much about the artist’s way of seeing as it is about the scene itself. (Check out Mathilde's photos here)
